I’m Jaclyn

For 13 years, I worked as a tax accountant. I understood spreadsheets, tax code and debits and credits.

Then, my middle son was born with severe disabilities, and I had to learn how to navigate complex medical systems in order to advocate for his care.

Writing became an outlet to process what I was going through, a way to connect with other people in the same space. Writing also gave me the opportunity to research and write about the best resources for my family and other families like mine.

Some days, I write about parenting, caregiving and inclusion. Other days, I’m breaking down tax law changes or explaining how to travel with a wheelchair-accessible van. Sometimes I’m doing all of the above.

Life doesn’t stay in one category. Neither does my work.
